Basketball, looks like it’s just kind of ordinary sport for most of people. Anyhow, basketball have it own place in my heart. I love it very much and sometime I called it “My heartbeat”. I’m so passionate with it. I was dreaming to be a great basketball player but looks like God has other plan for me and I believe that the other plan HE prepares gonna be great^^

Let me share something about girl named “Sumiati”.

She’s a phenomenon in Surabaya this latest 3 years. I saw her play basketball in DBL (Deteksi Basketball League), a basketball competition which is held by Jawa Post. Sumiati is YPPI 2’s school student. She won the DBL 2006 and DBL 2007 YPPI 2 team. What a great achievement, isn’t it?

What’s so special about this girl ?

Her Ability

Her basketball ability is outstanding. Her basketball skill is above the average for high school student. This girl has amazed a lot of audience who watched her games. This #12 girl jersey has score 45 point, 19 rebound and 11 assist in Final Four. What an outstanding form? Her highest point record is 48 points when YPPI 2 defeat SMAN 5 by 111-0. She also break her own record in DBL 2007 Final Game by scoring 58 points against Ciputra. And her skill was not get by doing nothing or naturally but by practice, perseverance and hardworking. ”I practice basketball twice a day, even three times a day until late night,“ said forward which is born in Tuban, April 16th 1990. (Jawa Post)

Her father, Munsori (35) is a labourer. Her mother, Basimah (34) is only a house maid but thats not made her lose her heart and shame with it. She turned it into achievement and achievement. Lucky her, her parents is very supportive. Her mother also taught her about humbleness and respect others.

“Don’t ever wished to be a great people. But try to become a good people,” said Sumiati imitating her mother words. (Jawa Post)
So, what I want to share here..

1. You can be what u wanna be, no matter who you are, Hardworking and perseverance is the key. Like Thomas Alfa Edison said:

“One percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration”

2. Money is important but you won’t ever bought achievement with it.

Come on!
